Ob, Gyn & RS Culture and Belonging Committee Ambassadors

Formally our Department’s Diversity Committee, this committee will be reimagined to include representation across all working groups within our Department.

The goal of this committee is to support members in their professional development and exploration of EISC. Meetings will be monthly and focus on personal and collective growth, ways to get involved, and share resources (or needs for resources) in aligning all teams with our mission and values and promoting culture and belonging. It will be the responsibility of the representatives to report back on their teams and their shifting needs—as well as their individual needs. Our VCs of EISC will be able to provide resources for trainings, circles, etc. that are tailored to individual and collective needs.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion Training

This is a one-day training for School of Medicine faculty and staff, focusing on implicit biases and microagressions, skills coaching to address these issues, and how to apply thoughtful, active listening and empathy to support a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.

Diversity and Inclusion Staff Certificate Program

This is a 4-month program with 2.5 hours in-person sessions twice a month and assigned reading and independent learning between sessions. Ob Gyn & RS has demonstrated its commitment to Diversity & Inclusion by sending more staff than any other department through this UCSF training program. A member of our department has participated in every cohort since the program’s inception in Fall 2016!
