WGV-CV: Update 8/14/20

Greetings all!

Just an update as more groups come to WGV-CV to unpack.  (As previously noted, unpacking is optional but wanted to provide the info should you come in.)

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  1. Mandatory Face Coverings:
    1. Anyone on UCSF property – including buildings, leased space, grounds, labs, conference rooms, elevators, parking structures and shuttles – must wear a face covering at all times except in a private office or personal vehicle.
    2. Face coverings must cover both nose and mouth, and should be worn while also maintaining an appropriate physical distance of at least six feet.
  2. Mandatory Daily Health Screening
    1. Daily health screenings are required of all UCSF faculty, staff, learners, contractors, visitors, and other affiliates who perform duties onsite. This applies to all UCSF Health and campus buildings, leased spaces, and outlying sites.
    2. The health screening tool can be accessed online or by texting "Screen" to 83973 on your mobile device.
    3. Health screenings should be completed each day before arriving to any campus location. Be prepared to show your health screening pass on your smartphone or provide a printed copy.
  3. SINGLE POINT OF ENTRY
    1. Please note the single point of entry for WGV-CV is on the south side of the building.  You can access the south entrance, by walking from either 3rd Street or Illinois Street.  The doors on the north side of the building is for exiting only.

BADGE ACCESS

  • All Ob, Gyn & RS occupants of WGV-CV have access to floors 1 – 4, and 9 & 10.

SUPPLIES, ROOM RESERVATIONS, MAIL DISTRIBUTION

  • Procedures/Guidelines are currently being drafted with the estimated date of completion by mid/late August.  Communication of the interim plans will then be disseminated.  When there is more certainty around possible transitions back to the workplace post January 2021, the taskforces will reassess the interim plans and make adjustments as needed.
  • Room Reservations:
    • Outlook Calendars for 9th & 10th floor conference room reservations are currently being tested.  As soon as they are available, we will let you know.  HDMI cables are not yet in the meeting rooms.  The temporary workaround for projecting in the room is to Zoom in to your meeting from a laptop.
    • 1st & 2nd floor conference rooms – EMS is the reservation platform and they have advised due to the work from home and interim policy on large gatherings and events, the conference centers will not be available for reservations until January 18, 2021.
  • Mail Logistics:
    • The transfer of Box 0132 to the 10th floor is in its final stages.  Mail will be directed to WGV-CV effective 8/18/2020.
    • The creation of a new box for the 9th floor is still in process.  We hope to have confirmation for the 9th floor soon.  Meanwhile, Cherri and I will continue to go to Mission Hall 7th floor to pick up the mail at least 3 times per week and bring it to WGV-CV.
    • A 9th floor coordinator has not yet been identified.  Therefore, Cherri will help support the 9th floor until a coordinator is chosen.
    • Our new address is:

UCSF Department of Ob, Gyn & RS, Box XXXX
480 16th Street, Floor 09 or 10

UNPACKING & POST MOVE SUPPORT

  • While your team representative has already contacted you, I have attached the general unpacking calendar for your reference.
  • As you unpack, please put your empty boxes along the concrete wall, near reception.
  • If UCSF IT Support is needed, please call the IT Help Desk at 415-514-4100.  With our department the only group in the tower portion of the building (at least through 9/9/2020), IT has been able to provide same day service.
  • Printers have not been set up for an easy “add printer” option; therefore, IT has a workaround until that is resolved.  Please contact IT to set-up your printer, if needed.
  • If you come across any problems, as you acquaint yourself with the furniture and equipment at WGV-CV, please email me at [email protected].  We are centralizing the information to minimize duplicate requests.
  • Cherri and I are typically at WGV-CV, at least 3 times per week: Cherri = Mondays & Thursdays, Brenda = Wednesdays.

CAFÉ CENTRAL

CLS is monitoring the daily traffic in the building (via the badge swipes) to help the owner decide when to open.  For a complete list of which retail locations are open during shelter in place, please use this link:  https://campuslifeservices.ucsf.edu/retail/21/updated_hours_of_retail_services

BIKE PARKING ROOM ACCESS

The details for requesting room access for bike parking are still in process.  There are 75 bike parking spaces available for daily parking and will be first come, first serve for those with access to the room.

MOVE DATE FOR COLLEAGUES COMING FROM LAUREL HEIGHTS & MOUNT ZION

The date for our Laurel Heights and Mount Zion colleagues moving to WGV-CV is Monday, October 26, 2020!  I will work with those groups directly as we get closer to that move date as packing is already underway for those groups.

If you have any questions related to set-up, please contact me.

We look forward to the time when we can enjoy our new space together!

Take care, keep safe, and stay healthy!

Thank you.

Best,

Brenda
