Navigating through UC, state, & federal laws and policies is difficult and confusing--especially when it comes to rules and restrictions related to Visitors, Affiliates, Volunteers, Interns, etc. This is especially true because, while all of these terms can be used interchangeably for a type of "unpaid learner," HR has very specific definitions for each group and each has its own set of rules, processes, and document requirements.
